“I figured I might as well go ahead and wade into this and present a launching platform for those that will follow!” I have waited to long in making this booklet for I know there are those that have came before and took a stand. There is no graceful way to approach an error of this magnitude when there is so much at stake. Bible expositors have grappled with these verses until they have so wrestled them around they can barely be truly seen in our day. The incessant adding and taking away from these true and pure words of prophecy sent to us by an Ageless God that in His mercy and wisdom provided so clear a path as to pinpoint the time and place of the greatest event in the history of mankind, must stop! Ignorance is no excuse for the badgering and misguided interpretations of so called prophets, prophetess’, and end-time teachers. I pray to God that those that have and are perverting, polluting, and manipulating the true, sound, and perfect timetable of God would be silenced. They have not only removed the glory of the ministry of Christ from this prophecy, but in so doing they have in turn attributed His glorious work to an Anti-Christ. What heresy, lunacy, and incompetence could yield up the glorious work of our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and attribute it to anti-christ accept they be deluded, self proven, purveyors of darkness and spiritual blindness. These proclaimers of this futuristic doctrine of lies and not so cleverly revived deception purveyed by Francisco Ribera, a Jesuit priest, have done more damage than one could ever imagine. Refusing to accept the established Kingdom of God being in place NOW has deceived the Church into falling back to the restrictions of this present world and its governing laws instead of pressing into the governing laws and principles of the Kingdom of God. Well did Jesus speak of these deceivers for they refuse to go in themselves and prevent those that are trying to go in from going in! Who do you think will see condemnation spring forth in judgment in the day of His appearing? To further the condemnation besides those already mentioned offenses they rob the Body of Christ the Church from her God given and ordained destiny of manifesting the Kingdom of God that will crush all of the other kingdoms and subdue and make all of Christ’s enemies a footstool for His feet. The Body of Christ is the fullness of Him (Christ) that fills all in all. Too, this false understanding and deception gives a false hope to natural Israel, of course hope may not be the right word! The Kingdom of God has been taken from natural Israel and has been given to the Spiritual Nation the Church which includes both Jew and Gentile. We will underscore this later for those that can’t see. I know this may sound a little harsh but the time has come for this folly that has invaded the pure hearts and minds of God’s chosen people (the Church) to be rooted up, thrown down, plucked up, and cast down so the building and planting can get underway. We, the Church, have much to do to fulfill our destiny and the heavens are holding Jesus back until the restitution of all things spoken of by all of the Holy Prophets since the world began. A word to those that think they know everything is yet future; don’t you believe it for a second! The Body of Christ needs you to lead them in this journey to fulfill her destiny and you need to prove your value by repenting and entering the Kingdom so those following can enter with you. I believe you will find that you cannot fight against the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, and those that try will find themselves in circumstances without remedy. If you desire truth, and I pray you do, I plead with you to trust the mercies of God to protect your mind and the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth. Prayerfully search the following booklet with a hunger for truth and I pray God open the eyes and ears of your understanding and the veil be taken away from the heart that you may see with your eyes and hear with your ears and receive truth into your heart that will make you free.
In this 9th Chapter of the Book of Daniel we will look at 12 basic and fundamental fulfillments pointed out by this text; 1. Jerusalem would be destroyed 2. The street and wall would be rebuilt in troublous times 3. The most holy would be anointed 4. Messiah would be cut off 5. He would finish the transgression 6. Make an end of Sins 7. Make reconciliation for iniquity 8. Bring in ever lasting Righteousness 9. Seal up the Vision and Prophecy 10. Confirm the Covenant 11. Cause sacrifices to cease 12. Jerusalem and the temple would be destroyed and desolations would sweep the land
You will see that ALL OF THESE 12 ITEMS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED and there is NO PROVISION ANYWHERE IN SCRIPTURE for a FUTURE FULFILLMENT!
We will look at this timetable in the segments in which they were presented to Daniel and I will supply a brief overview here;
Daniel 9:24-27“ Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place. So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress. Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined. And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate. ” 7 weeks = 49 years. 7 weeks then 62 weeks then 1 week = 49 years + 434 years + 7 years (490 years).
• First 7 weeks (49 years) = 457 to 408 B.C. The Decree began with Cyrus according to Isaiah 44:28;Restoration and rebuilding of Jerusalem under Ezra and Nehemiah followed the decree. From the beginning to the settling in Jerusalem. • 62 Weeks (434 years) = 408 B.C. to 27 A.D. From the settling in Jerusalem to the baptism of Jesus. He was born around 4 B.C. and was “about” 30 years old when baptized, hereby publicly identified as the Messiah. The 30th year was the age at which men of Israel were permitted to become active in temple or tabernacle service. • Last Week, 1st part (3 ½ years) After his baptism Jesus demonstrated the new in-breaking kingdom of God, preaching and manifesting the gospel of the kingdom saying the time is fulfilled, culminating in his death and resurrection. • Middle of the Week (between the last 7 years) Christ’s death ended the Old Covenant obligation, though continued to be practised, it no longer had value and acceptability, been superseded by the once-for-all sacrifice of Christ. It sealed the fulfillment of all six promises of verse 24. • Last Week, 2nd part (3 ½ years) The first half being fulfilled, there remains another half to be fulfilled before Jesus’ followers would be free to take the Gospel outside the Jewish realm. Consequently the disciples remained in Jerusalem and preached exclusively to the Jews until the time was up. The 70 weeks are concluded and the Gospel is now freed to go to the Gentiles.

Chapter 1 – The Timetable Prophesied Daniel 9:21-27 21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. 22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. 23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to show thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he(Messiah) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
The first 7 weeks (week means 7 year period actually saying 7x7=49 years) was the time period it took to rebuild Jerusalem from the going forth of the commandment by Cyrus in approx 456BC to the completion in approx 407 BC.
The next 62 weeks (62x7=434 years) we would see Messiah come forth and we see Jesus showing up in approx 27AD to be baptized by John.
The final 1 week (1x7=7 years) is seen in 3 ½ years of Jesus’ ministry of declaring and establishing the covenant in His earthly ministry until he is cutoff bringing an end to the old system of sacrifices which God never took pleasure in. But, by His once for all sacrifice Jesus put an end to all ceremonial and temple sacrifice and oblations forever. His death marked the middle of the final 7 years. The next 3 ½ years of declaring the covenant are fulfilled by the Holy Spirit (Ghost) working through the Church with Jesus confirming there words with signs and wonders following until the final week expired for the holy city and people. Then the new keepers of the Kingdom of God, the Church, (Jesus’ Jewish Apostles leading the way) are told to go into the way of the Gentiles and Peter goes forth with the keys of the Kingdom of God to open up for whosoever will.
This marked the end of God’s exclusive favor upon Israel as a nation and people as he turned to the gentiles to take out a people for His name. The Exodus 19 choosing of Israel by God now moves to the combined Jew and Gentile nation. Lets compare;
Exodus 19: 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
I Peter 2: (To the Church) 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
The entire picture of Daniels prophecy and the fulfillment are to highlight this grand work by Jesus Christ and the incredible wisdom of God in carrying out this glorious work so precisely in the exact time frame he set out. That is exactly what He did! To throw all of this aside and make a vain attempt to apply much of this prophecy to a time yet future and to antichrist instead of Jesus Christ is a grievous error indeed. I ask all to reconsider there position on this vital point of prophecy and let the word speak for the word.

Understanding Daniel Chapter 9: 24-27
Chapter 2 – The Beginning of the Timetable (Finding the correct starting point is crucial)
This particular prophecy unfortunately is not very well known by the average lay person even though it is probably the most glorious pointer we have to Christ and His work in all of Prophecy. Many have come to call this section of prophecy “Daniel’s 70 weeks” or the “Prophecy of 70 weeks” and the timetable is set out very specifically. The timetable of 70 weeks (490 years) was done intentionally by the Father to give every chance for Israel to obey His voice, repent, and receive the Messiah. There was no cleverly devised scheme by God to hide a “gap of 1000’s of years” between the 69th and 70th week from His people he loved. He stretched out His arms daily to them and desired to gather them in but they wouldn’t let Him. It set out the exact year that Messiah would show up, what His work would be, when He would be cut off or put to death and outlined the glorious redemptive plan and covenant he would implement.
Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
The one thing that is consistent no matter what field of interpretation one chooses, all accept unconditionally that the 70 WEEKS are actually 70 sevens of years or 490 years. We will not labor this point seeing that even history itself validates all claims to this calculation and none can honorably refute it. We will look to the beginning point of this 490 year calculation although a reverse calculation will suffice to accomplish the same truth. This is to say it calculates both ways equally accurate no matter if you count backwards from Messiah’s (Jesus’) baptism 483 years (69 weeks) to the decree of Cyrus or you count forward from Cyrus’ decree 483 years (69 weeks) to Jesus’ baptism. Since chronology is far from accurate when it approaches the Medo-Persian and Babylonian period’s one can actually correct heathen chronology, which all serious chronologists agree is in error up to 100 or more years. The accepted chronology by the world system is that of Ptolemy which has since been proven inaccurate but for the complexity of changing all records and dates it is left as acceptable. But when we start looking for a beginning point, as Children of God, we can look to God and His Word for the answers to these chronological questions. Daniel had learned, through Jeremiah 25:11 and 29:10, that the period which God had set for the "desolations of Jerusalem" was just seventy years Daniel 9:1. Jeremiah 25: 10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. 11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
Jeremiah 29: 10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Daniel 9:1 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; 2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
That period was then about to expire; for the decree, whereby the captivity was ended and the Jews were allowed (and even exhorted) to return to their land and city, was issued by Cyrus within two years recorded by Ezra 1:1-4.
Ezra 1:1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, 2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. 3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem. 4 And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.
This makes the fulfillment of Jeremiah’s prophecy as understood by Daniel then and us today clearly known, because it is recorded in Ezra 1:1, that the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus to issue that decree, for the express purpose that "the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled." Thank God for His clarity so those in error can find truth. There are no less than four different decrees, or royal commands, which have been brought forward as the point from which the seventy weeks are to be counted. Some able and learned expositors choose one, and others equally able and learned choose another. Yet the Word of God speaks as clearly as to this as it speaks concerning where Christ should be born. The right way of getting at the chronology of the prophecy is so simple and obvious that a child can easily comprehend it. All we need to do is to ascertain from the Word of God the two events specified by the angel, (1) the going forth of the "commandment" and (2) the manifestation of "Messiah the Prince." Having definitely fixed these two events (which the Scriptures enable us to do with certainty) we know from the prophecy itself that from the one to the other is just 483 years. By this method we have no need of a system of chronology. Many expositors have proceeded in a very different way. First they have made choice of one or another of the various systems of chronology which have been compiled by various chronologists such as Ptolemy, Ussher, Lloyd, Clinton or Marshall. Then assuming the correctness of the selected chronology, they have sought first for a decree of some Persian king, and second for some event in the lifetime of Christ, which would be as near as possible to 483 years apart, according to the selected chronology. According to this method, the interpretation of the prophecy is controlled by whatever chronology the expositor may have selected because he must reject every interpretation which does not agree with his assumed chronology. We need to move to show that the point of beginning of the seventy weeks is the divinely prompted and prophesied decree of Cyrus the Great, whereof a record is given in 2 Chronicles 36:22,23 and Ezra 1:1-4. The proof is not only clear, simple and absolutely conclusive for all who believe the Word of the Lord, but it was God’s intent to prove His Omniscience. These Scriptures are so vitally important to establish this fact once and for all that I am going to supply the full text to prove the context in which God was speaking. I think it also fair to point out that when one sees these scripture text then one can see easily the intent of God to bring alongside this incredible event a PROPHETIC TYPE of CHRIST in CYRUS! 1. Defeating the one that took God’s people captive 2. All Kings given to him 3. All things made subject to him 4. Letting God’s people go at know cost to them 5. Setting them free to build God’s House and City 6. Restoring the Vessels of the Temple 7. Plus many more typical similarities.
Let us look to the scriptures to draw our conclusions!
II Chronicles 36:11 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. 12 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD. 13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel. 14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem. 15 And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy. 17 Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand. 18 And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon. 19 And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof. 20 And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia: 21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years. 22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, 23 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.

5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem. 6 And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered. 7 Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods; 8 Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
Isaiah 44: 24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; 25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish; 26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof: 27 That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers: 28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
Isaiah 45:1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; 2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: 3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. 4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. 5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. 8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it. 9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? 10 Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth? 11 Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. 12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. 13 I have raised him (Cyrus) up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.
We find here: 1. God’s promise that Jerusalem would be rebuilt 2. Its captives restored to their home 3. We find that God mentioned by name the very man, "Cyrus, " by whom that promise was to be accomplished. 4. Further proof that King Cyrus was the one who should give the "commandment" (or word) for the restoring and rebuilding of Jerusalem is because it was spoken by the mouth of the Lord nearly two hundred years before Cyrus was even born. In Isaiah we see the words, "Sing, O ye heavens, for the Lord hath done it" (Isaiah 44:23). God by these words is signifying and calling heaven to rejoice over a work that Cyrus was going to accomplish that was very pleasing to God. It would also be a work that would make liars (those who consulted omens) words to become frustrated, and the "diviners" made mad, and the "wise men" turned backward, and their knowledge made foolish (Isaiah 44:25). This is still happening today over these very actions of Cyrus! Too, all that opposed His will, the high walls and strong gates of Babylon, and the wisdom of the astrologers, soothsayers and Chaldean’s would be brought to nothing. God was going to "confirm the word of His servant, and perform the counsel of His messengers"; for it was He "that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited, and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof; that saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers; that saith of Cyrus, He is My shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure, even saying to Jerusalem, thou shalt be built; and to the Temple, thy foundation shalt be laid" (Isaiah 44:26,27). The fulfillment of this prophecy by Isaiah was at hand, the last Babylonian King, Belshazzar, was throwing a party and hiding behind the strong walls of Babylon, while the armies of Darius and Cyrus were besieging the city. Then appeared a man’s hand writing on the wall those four words which declared the doom of Babylon. All of the magicians and astrologers and soothsayers were confounded by them, and their wisdom turned to foolishness. Moreover, secular history has preserved for us the fact that the engineers of Cyrus’ army dug a new channel for the river Euphrates which ran through the city (thus fulfilling the words, "and I will dry up thy rivers") and Cyrus entered by way of the dry bed of the stream. Thus were the "two leaved gates" of Babylon opened to God’s appointed conqueror, who was to be a "shepherd" and a deliverer to His people. The next verse of the prophecy speaks of this:
"Thus saith the Lord to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings"—see (Daniel 5:6), where it is said of Belshazzar, when he saw the handwriting on the wall, "so that the joints of his loins were loosed"—"to open before him the two leaved gates, and the gates shall not be shut" (Isaiah 45:1).
Here is God’s own testimony that King Cyrus, and not Darius, Artaxerxes, nor one of his successors, was to give the "commandment" whereby Jerusalem was to be rebuilt and its inhabitants restored. Nothing could be plainer than the words,
"He (Cyrus) shall perform all My pleasure, even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built, and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid."
This proof should be sufficient to those that believe the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God. On the other hand one would have to reject and disprove these scriptural proofs, choose to follow a faulty heathen chronology as our only guide to try and find some event, long after Cyrus was laid in his grave, which can be taken as "the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem."
No further evidence is needed. But in this exceedingly important matter God has been pleased to give proof upon proof. Thus in (Isaiah 45:13) we have this further word concerning Cyrus:
1. "I have raised him up in righteousness, 2. and I will direct all his ways; 3. he shall build my city, 4. and he shall let go my captives."
The captives can only be let go from Babylon one time unless another captivity took place. Seeing there were no other Babylonian captivities spoken of anywhere near that time then it has to be Cyrus. The same can be said about God’s city which encompasses His House. You cannot send 45000 people to move in and begin working nearly 50 years on the House of God in Jerusalem without the city automatically being rebuilt. If someone desires to be contentious over chronology which has already been proven to be incredibly unreliable especially around the Babylonian, Medo-Persian, and Greek eras then let them be contentious and miss out on recognizing the glorious precision and awesome Omniscience and Omnipotence of Our God. They cannot disprove Cyrus and they cannot prove Artaxerxes, Xerxes (which were probably the same kings anywise) nor Darius to be the initiator of God’s command. Some think under Nehemiah the command was given to go back but the restoration of the walls and work accomplished by Nehemiah did not take 49 years it took 52 days. Nehemiah merely repaired the work began under Cyrus’ decree, backed up by Darius’, and finished under Artaxerxes, but nevertheless the command began with Cyrus!
Nehemiah 6: 15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.
Some may wonder why this is so important? It is to insure that the Word and the integrity of God is maintained, for reproof, correction, for instruction in righteousness and to reinforce the Bible as being a true historical tool that can be relied upon in its records as being accurate. Besides that I have a tuff time letting people get away with teaching error at any level. When the time for the ending of the captivity (given by another prophet, Jeremiah) was on the point of expiring, God put into the hands of the man He had called by name two hundred years before, " all the kingdoms of the world, " so that he had the needed power to fulfill God’s Word and to "do all His pleasure"; and beside all that, God himself "stirred up the spirit of Cyrus, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing" (Ezra 1:1). And thereupon, in virtue of that command, over forty two thousand Jews, headed by Zerubbabel, Joshua and Nehemiah, returned forthwith to Jerusalem (Ezra 2:1-6); and with them more than seven thousand servants and maids (Ezra 2:65). It was a new beginning for Israel; and Cyrus was God’s "shepherd," chosen long beforehand, for bringing His sheep back to their proper fold. As another note or after thought, God speaks not about Cyrus; but directly to him. From this we can understand how Cyrus would say: "The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the world, and He hath charged me" etc. It is true that Ezra, in the very brief statement he gives of the decree of Cyrus, does not specifically mention the building of the city. But Ezra’s silence yields no ground whatever for assuming that the decree of Cyrus did not provide for the rebuilding of the city, much less does it provide any reason for setting aside the word of the Lord spoken by Isaiah. In fact the decree of Cyrus, under which the Jews were, one and all, permitted to return to Jerusalem, and under which over forty two thousand did return at once, necessarily implied permission to build houses to dwell in. The building of the temple is the most important matter, and that is why it is specifically mentioned in Ezra’s brief reference to the decree of Cyrus. But, according to the prophecy of Isaiah, the commandment to rebuild the city was to be joined with that to rebuild the temple. We understand that when we have found the commandment to rebuild the temple we have found that to rebuild the city. It should be noticed as well that the words of Gabriel call for the going forth of a commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem. Those words fit the decree of Cyrus which was proclaimed throughout his kingdom, and which is expressly called by Ezra a "commandment" (Ezra 6:14). 14 And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. On top of all that, the building of Jerusalem did actually proceed from the decree of Cyrus, is fully corroborated by Haggai, who (prophesying during that same period of the cessation of work on the temple) said that the people were dwelling in their own ceiled houses, and that they ran every one to his own house while God’s House was in ruins(Haggai 1:4,7). In reading the book of Ezra, we can see that he speaks throughout of Jerusalem as an existing city, and in (Ezra 9:9) he gives thanks to God that He had given them "a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem."
With all of this said, Cyrus did come to power, he did set the captives free, he did issue the decree that resulted in the building of the temple and the city of Jerusalem. This ended the 70 years Babylonian captivity spoken about by Jeremiah and understood by Daniel thus beginning the countdown of 70 Weeks (70 x 7 years) or 490 years revealed to Daniel pertaining to Messiah. The work of rebuilding the city and laying the temple foundations took the first 7 weeks or 49 years. The next 62 weeks or 434 years would carry us all the way to the appearance of Messiah and His baptism. The time for the appearing of Messiah (Christ) was openly declared to all and when John shows up in Jerusalem in Luke 3:15 they are wondering if he is the Christ (Messiah). Luke 3: 15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not; 16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: 17 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

Chapter 3 The Appearing of the Messiah After 7 Weeks + 62 Weeks = 69 Weeks or 483 years
The people understood and calculated correctly they just looked to the wrong man for shortly after John began his ministry Jesus shows up to be baptized exactly 483 years from the decree of Cyrus. John sees the Holy Ghost (Spirit) descend on Jesus like a dove and John openly declares “this is He who was to come whose shoes I am not worthy to unlatch”. In this same time we see also the “anointing of the Most Holy” as the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus the true Most Holy! Immediately after Jesus’ baptism he goes into the wilderness and is tempted by the devil 40 days and returns in the power of the Spirit and does something very significant; Luke 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Jesus was quite aware of the prophecies made about Him and especially the specific ones made by Daniel in Chapters 2, 7 and 9 about the Kingdom of God and the Messiah and the time frame of their fulfillment. So He comes strolling in preaching the gospel of the KINGDOM OF GOD and John just called Him the MESSIAH or CHRIST and Jesus says in verse 15 of Mark Chapter 1 that “THE TIME IS FULFILLED, AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND, REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL”.
Mark 1: 9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. 10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: 11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. 13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. 14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
I know, how can anyone overlook the absolute evidence the scripture provides concerning this prophecy. The prophecy continues by saying that Messiah would be “cut off” but “not for himself” after the 69th week. Since Jesus ministry all takes place after the 69th week seeing that it took through the 69th week to reach Messiah, then His ministry has to take place in the 70th week or the last 7 years of the prophecy. The futurists would have us to believe that mysteriously, without any notification from God, this last week is moved to an unspecified time of over 2000 years into the future and will be the time of an antichrist and judgment. If the 70th week doesn’t fall here as the prophecy states then the entire ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus goes unnoticed. The most significant event in the history of all of mankind that ever had been or ever would be is said by futurists to be overshadowed by God dealing with an enemy Jesus had already defeated and made a show of openly triumphing over him through the cross. Somebody needs a brain, heart, and spirit check if they think that is the case! For the moments sake I must make the statement that this 70th week was undoubtedly the most precious, phenomenal, and prophetic packed week or 7 year period that ever had been since creation or ever would be here after. Jesus’ ministry of confirming the covenant fulfilled the first 3 ½ years of this 7 year period and just as predicted in the midst of the last week (7 years) Messiah would be cut off, but not for Himself it would be for us! Jesus of course being the once for all time and last sacrifice ever to be acceptable to God put an end to all sacrifices and offerings from that day forward. Hebrews tells us: Hebrews 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; Some claim it is antichrist that causes the sacrifice and the oblations to cease, but we know it was the work of Jesus for these scriptures listed above show clearly Jesus was the last acceptable sacrifice therefore stopping all following sacrifices and oblations. The last 3 ½ years of this week of years of declairing the covenant with the nation of Israel was fulfilled by the outpouring of the Holy Ghost (Spirit) on the day of Pentecost to the Church and God worked with them confirming the word (of the new covenant declared by Messiah, Jesus) with signs and wonders following. After the 70th week is fulfilled, the people of the prince to come, Titus Vespasian and his Roman Army, in 70A.D. destroyed the city and the sanctuary! The major concern for many is this 70th week which I gave only a brief description of in this section for I want to devote an entire section to this final week or 7 years of this Daniel Chapter 9 timetable.

Chapter 4 The 70th Week or Last 7 Years
Section 1 – Christ or antichrist The question has to be asked at the outset of this section, ‘Does the 70th Week or the last 7 Years belong to Christ or an antichrist’? Did the prophetic timetable of God run its course as predicted or was there an unseen and untold ‘gap of 1000’s of years’ that God forgot to tell us about? Either it has been fulfilled and we rejoice in the glorious work of Christ and the destiny of the Church or it is yet future and we can only wish that Christ would have accomplished the work and hope He takes us out before the enemy He was supposed to have defeated on the cross kills all of us in a great tribulation of 7 years! To find God’s remedy for this not so perplexing question we need to reconsider the previous passages of scripture we introduced at the outset describing this incredible 70th week or 7 year period. Let us review Daniel Chapter 9 and verses 26 and 27; Daniel 9: 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
One of the first keys we need to point out is the beginning of verse 27 for it uses the phrase, “And he”. The question then is what does the word or pronoun “he” refer to? The reason we need to determine this from the beginning is because some not so understanding individuals make the claim and are dogmatic that this verse 27 usage of “he” is speaking of antichrist. This inference is made from a statement in verse 26 where mention is made about “the people of the prince that shall come”. The context and content of that scripture is talking about the army or people of the prince that shall come (Titus Vespasian) but the mention is of the people or army of the prince, not the prince in specific as to infer the “he” of verse 27 could in anyway refer to the prince. The word “prince” is used as the object of the prepositional phrase and actually identifies the people not the people identifying the prince. Grammatically speaking the word “he” in verse 27 could not possibly refer to the prince (Titus Vespasian) but rather has to point back to the prime subject or noun of the text in question which is Messiah. The futurists would have us to reach far beyond even the mention or inference of this “he” of verse 27 as pointing to Titus Vespasian, or the armies of Rome coming in 70 A.D. to sack Jerusalem and the temple but they would have us to believe this is pointing to an antichrist some 2000 or more years down the road. God has to be the only one to know how any serious Bible student or prophecy teacher could accept that kind of ridiculous application of exegetics. There is NO mention of either an antichrist, or a gap of any kind in this timetable and anyone that would be considered a serious interpreter of Bible prophecy could never keep a straight face when trying to make that kind of an assertion! To present a few more details of this futuristic heresy they also infer and expect serious bible students to receive from this that this “he” means antichrist and the rest of the verse is interpreted by them to mean that; 1. A mysterious gap occurs between the 69th and 70th week 2. This gap is over a 2000 year period 3. The “he” refers to an antichrist 4. antichrist would come some 2000 years in the future 5. He will make a covenant with the Jews 6. This will be in a future 7 year period 7. This 7 year period is supposed to be the last week of Daniels prophecy 8. antichrist’s covenant will allow them to rebuild there temple 9. And after 3 ½ years he will break that covenant 10. He will cause the sacrifices to cease 11. He will set himself up in the temple telling all he is god 12. This 7 year period is a great tribulation and judgment of God 13. Things get so bad God will rapture the Church out either before, during, or immediately after this 7 year tribulation period.
I think you can see the problems with this great leap of not so intuitive understanding and fleshly creative Bible prophecy by the purveyors of this UNSUPPORTED FUTURISTIC THEORY and HERESY! Is there to be an antichrist showing up in the churches history? ABSOLUTELY! Did antichrist show up? ABSOLUTELY! Was there to be a tribulation period affect the church? ABSOLUTELY! Did the tribulation period come to the church? ABSOLUTELY! Will there be a catching away of the saints and a physical return of Jesus at the end of the age? ABSOLUTELY! The problem has risen because someone has tried to rearrange the timetable given to Daniel to fit their particular need or interpretation of Daniel’s prophecy. When we permit the timetable to unfold the way God intended and the way Daniel spoke it, and let the 70th week fall where it was determined to which is immediately after the 69th week, then we can move on to identify these other interesting characters and events listed out of time and out of line by these futurists. We will hold off on the understanding of the antichrist, a tribulation, a catching away, and all of the other things the futurists imply in these verses simply because they have NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS TIMETABLE GOD GAVE TO US THROUGH DANIEL! This timetable shows the decree to rebuild the city and the temple and the 49 years it would take; the duration of the temple and city completion unto the manifesting (appearing, identification – baptism) of the Messiah (not His crucifixion) would be another 434 years; the last 7 years of declaring the covenant with the nation of Israel would be divided by the crucifixion of the Messiah at 3 ½ years and then the last 3 ½ years being fulfilled by Jesus as head of the Church. Mention is made that the city and temple would be destroyed again by the people of the prince (Titus Vespasian) that would come afterward. NO ANTICHRIST – NO TRIBULATION – NO RAPTURE – NO OVER 2000 YEAR GAP. Just a simple timetable pointing out 490 years pointing to probably the most glorious time in the history of mankind and God in His grace and mercy gave Israel a clear picture of the Messiah’s coming so they wouldn’t miss Him, but it didn’t work. They were blinded to Christ just like most of them still are today and mainly because Christianity is blinded to the truth and will not let Israel see the truth. The kingdom of God was taken from Israel and given to a nation headed up by Jewish Apostles as the foundation stones and a Jewish Chief Apostle Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone. It was mostly all Jews that converted first into the kingdom of God in the new nation the Church made up of Jews and Gentiles (all EQUAL) and the Jews became the first fruits of God’s harvest having first received the Word of the new covenant.

Section 2 What does the Scripture actually say?
Relating back now to the topic of the 70th week or last 7 years it is not possible to stretch these verses in any TRUE way and place the 70th week of Daniel or the last 7 years of the timetable into the FUTURE! So let us return to the text to see what they are saying so we can understand the timetable. Daniel 9: 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Let’s list the high points of this last week; 1. AFTER (7 weeks - 49 years and 62 weeks – 434 years) 483 years Messiah will be cut off. But not for Himself. 2. The people of the prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary 3. And he (Messiah) will confirm the covenant with many for one week (7 years) 4. In the midst of the 7 years (week) he (Messiah) will cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease
1- AFTER the 69th week Messiah will be cut off, but not for himself! Anyone should be able to see this one but the key here is AFTER the 69th week. What comes after the 69th week? The 70th week and that is when Messiah (Jesus Christ) was cut off. If we pay attention to the little words sometimes it can keep us from making BIG mistakes with the others. AFTER, AFTER, AFTER the 7 weeks and the 62 weeks or 69th week is the 70th week when Jesus, the Messiah, was cut off, but not for Himself, it was for US! He took our sins, iniquities, trespasses, and sorrows upon that tree!
2. The people of the prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. We have already covered this one and will cover it more in the summary. Here we have Titus Vespasian and the Roman army set a siege against Jerusalem and surrounded the city of Jerusalem and after about 3 years Jerusalem caves in and they destroy the city and the temple sanctuary. Even as Jesus said not one stone would be left upon another! When you see the city surrounded by armies know that the time is near.
3. And he (Messiah) will confirm the covenant with many for one week (7 years) – This to we understand was part of Jesus’ ministry was to display that the Kingdom of God was here and confirming the New Covenant for 7 years. 3 ½ years in His ministry physically and 3 ½ years in His ministry as head of the Church spiritually. Galatians 3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. Galatians 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. Hebrews 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a NEW COVENANT with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Hebrews 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
4. In the midst of the 7 years (week) he (Messiah) will cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. When Jesus was offered up as the once for all sacrifice, all other sacrifices became useless and completely unacceptable for the New Covenant does not call for blood anymore and the old covenant sacrifices and offerings were done away with! No more sacrifices, offerings or oblations would ever be accepted again after that glorious crucifixion day because of Messiahs action on the cross he perfects forever those that are sanctified by Him. Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. Hebrews 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. Hebrews 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: Hebrews 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Hebrews 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Hebrews 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; Hebrews 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Hebrews 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Hebrews 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
SUMMARY of The Timetable Prophecy from Cyrus to Messiah 1. It was decreed by God and confirmed by the mouth of the Prophets that Cyrus would give the decree to rebuild Jerusalem and the temple. In 457 BC this is precisely what Cyrus did. 2. The street and wall were to be built in perilous times and this can be seen through Ezra, Haggai and Nehemiah and the account they compiled of the actual work of the rebuilding. 3. The most Holy was to be anointed. (See my section on pages 36-38 for a more complete understanding of my position) We saw how this was fulfilled at the baptism of Jesus by John when the Holy Spirit descended on Him like a dove. (Luke 3:21-22) Jesus immediately is tempted in the wilderness by the Devil and He returns and takes the book of Isaiah and reads, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has ANOINTED ME” (Luke 4:18-22). Jesus declared Himself to be the temple of God. NO ONE can dispute that JESUS was, is, and always will be THE MOST HOLY! John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. John 2:20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? John 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body. John 2:22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Obviously Jesus as the true temple of God was the true Most Holy Place that was to be anointed as mentioned in this Messianic Prophecy.
4. Messiah was to be cut off. I don’t see that anyone would have a problem with this one but even yet we will cover it some what. Matthew 27:38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. 39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. 44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. 45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. 48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. 49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

Chapter 5 To Bring TO an END and TO BRING IN Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
God had a very definite purpose in identifying these particular 490 years to Daniel and the world and no one can truly refute what we have covered thus far and surely can in no way refute the glorious work of Jesus Christ and His finishing completely of the work that the Father sent Him to do. It is not to be seen yet to be fulfilled in some future event but here and now it has been made available for nearly 2000 years and we have been blinded from these glorious truths.
Upon thy people and upon thy holy city tells what these 70 weeks (490 years) pertains to! The Children of Israel of old and Jerusalem of old were to see these events unfold in them and to them and they did see them just as God said they would exactly when and how God said they would. What is it God was going to accomplish in this time frame? 1. to finish the transgression 2. and to make an end of sins, 3. and to make reconciliation for iniquity, 4. and to bring in everlasting righteousness, 5. and to seal up the vision and prophecy, 6. and to anoint the most Holy. This is what God was accomplishing in thy people and thy holy city! To try and make this timetable point to a futuristic single man demonic antichrist, an all encompassing world tribulation and persecution of Christians and covenant breaker with the Jews is ludicrous. This 7 years was a tribute to the incredible 7 year period of our Glorious Triumphant Lord and Savior Jesus Christ’s life, death, burial, resurrection, declaring of the new covenant, pouring out the promise of the Father, declaring the gospel of the Kingdom, and setting up the Jew and Gentile New Nation the Church, and declaring to whosoever will let him come! To see these 7 years as anything other than that is an abomination to say the least. Let us take a look at the above mentioned accomplishments that were to take place on an individual basis so we can clearly identify their fulfillment in the Lord. 1. To finish the transgression It was for their "transgression" that they had been sent into captivity, and that their land and city had been made a ”desolation" for seventy years. Daniel himself had confessed this, saying, "Yea, all Israel have transgressed Thy law, even by departing that they might not obey Thy voice. Therefore the curse is poured upon us" (Daniel 9:11). But the angel revealed to him the distressing news that the full measure of Israel’s "transgression" was yet to be completed. The children were yet to fill up the iniquity of their fathers; and that, as a consequence, God would bring upon them a far greater "desolation" than that which had been wrought by Nebuchadnezzar. For "to finish the transgression" could mean nothing less or other than the betrayal and crucifixion of their promised and expected Messiah, Jesus Christ. We need to note the words of the Lord Jesus spoken to the leaders of the people shortly before His betrayal; for there is in them a striking similarity to the words of the prophecy of Gabriel. He said: "Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers … that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth" (Matthew 23:32). In these words of Christ we find first, a declaration that the hour had come for them "to finish the transgression"; and second, a strong leading that the predicted desolations were to come, as a judgment, upon that generation, as appears by the words "that upon you may come." Our Lord’s concluding words at that time have great significance when considered in the light of this prophecy. He said, "Verily I say unto you, all these things shall come upon this generation". Then, as the destruction of the beloved city pressed upon His heart, Jesus burst into the lamentation, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem" ending with the significant words, "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate." The terrible nature of the judgments which were poured out upon Jerusalem at the time of its destruction in A.D. 70 has been lost sight of in our day. But if we would ever see this event as it was in the eyes of God and how pressing it was upon His soul we could not help but weep with Him. Even, when on the way to the Cross it was more devastating to Jesus to think on Jerusalem’s destruction than that of His own approaching sufferings (Luke 23:28-30).
Luke 23: 28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. 30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. 31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
Wherefore the apostle Paul said that they "fill up their sins always; for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost" (1Thessalonians 2:14-16). I Thessalonians 2: 14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: 15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: 16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
The Israelites were about to undergo God’s wrath "to the uttermost" in the approaching destruction of Jerusalem, and in the scattering of the people among all the nations of the world. It is not difficult to discern why the list of the six great things comprised in this prophecy was headed by the finishing of the transgression; for the same act, which: 1. constituted the crowning sin of Israel, 2. also served for the putting away of sin (Hebrews 9:26) For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 3. and the accomplishing of eternal redemption (Hebrews 9:12).Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. I feel it vital to place this Isaiah prophecy from chapter 53 in its entirety at this time. Please read it slow and look upon the work of our Lord prophesied and see the fulfillment. Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
They did indeed take Him, and with wicked hands crucified and slew Him; but it was done "by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God" (Acts 2:22-23). Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
The powers and authorities of Judea and of Rome, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were indeed gathered together against Him; but it was to do what God’s own hand and counsel had determined before to be done (Acts 4:26-28). Acts 4: 26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
There is nothing more wonderful in all that has been made known to us, than that the people and their rulers, because they knew Him not, nor the voices of their own prophets, which were read every Sabbath day, should have fulfilled them in condemning Him (Acts 13:27). Acts 13:27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. 28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. 29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
Therefore, among the many prophecies that were then "fulfilled," a prominent place must be given to that of the crucifying of the Messiah as being the “FINISHING THE TRANSGRESSION”! It filled it to the uttermost and what was prophesied as judgment for the offense was sure and coming!

2. To make an end of sins. The crucifixion of Christ, though it was truly a deed of diabolical wickedness on the part of man, was on His (Jesus’) own part the offering of Himself without spot to God as a sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 9:14). Hebrews 9: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
It was thus that He "offered the one Sacrifice for sins forever" (Hebrews 10:12). Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
We understand that the sense in which the death of Christ made "an end of sins" was that thereby He made a perfect atonement for sins, (Hebrews 1:3), "when He had by Himself purged our sins, " and in many like passages. It is to be noted, however, that the Hebrew word for "sins" in this passage means not only the sin itself, but also the sacrifice therefore. But the word used in that verse is not the word found in (Daniel 9:24), which means sin or sin-offering. It is a different word, meaning sacrifice. We conclude, therefore, that the words, "to make an end of sins, " should be taken in their most obvious sense. I Corinthians15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; I Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. I John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. I John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
These are only some of the verses that speak expressly about the action of Messiah the Prince, Jesus, putting an end to sin; dieing for our sin according to scripture; giving himself for our sin to deliver us from this present evil world; forgiven all our trespasses and quickened us; purged our sins by himself; bare our sins on the tree that we being dead to sin should live unto righteousness; propitiation for our sins and the sins of the WORLD; he was manifested to take away our sin; the propitiation for our sins because of the love of the father; washed us from our sins in His own blood! Jesus put an end to sin!
3. To make reconciliation for iniquity.
Iniquity means Sin; wickedness; evil. Hebrews 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted. Isaiah 53: 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Reconciliation means a change from enmity to friendship. It is mutual, i.e., it is a change wrought in both parties who have been at enmity. In Col. 1:19-22 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: the word there used refers to a change wrought in the personal character of the sinner who ceases to be an enemy to God by wicked works, and yields up to him his full confidence and love. In 2 Cor. 5:20 the apostle beseeches the Corinthians to be "reconciled to God", i.e., to lay aside their enmity. Romans 5:10-11 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Atonement refers not to any change in our disposition toward God, but to God himself, as the party reconciled. Romans 5:11 teaches the same truth. From God we have received "the reconciliation" (R.V.), i.e., he has conferred on us the token of his friendship. So also 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. Speaks of a reconciliation originating with God, and resulting in the removal of his wrath. In Ephesians 2:16 (And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby) it is clear that the apostle does not refer to the winning back of the sinner in love and loyalty to God, but to the restoration of God's forfeited favor. This is affected by his justice being satisfied, so that he can, in consistency with his own nature, be favorable toward sinners. Justice demands the punishment of sinners. The death of Christ satisfies justice, and so reconciles God to us. This reconciliation makes God our friend, and enables him to pardon and save us. Reconciliation also means atonement that means a covering (for sin). In context: Leviticus 5:18 And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an ATONEMENT for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist it not, and it shall be forgiven him. The need of reconciliation arises from the fact that man is by nature not only a sinner, but also an enemy of God (Romans 5:8-10). It is because he is a sinner that he is also an enemy. As a sinner he needs to be justified; and as an enemy he needs to be reconciled. The death of Christ as an atoning sacrifice accomplishes both in the case of all who believe in Him. In Romans 5:8-10 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. These two distinct, but closely related, things are clearly outlined in these words. For we there read, first, that "while we were yet sinners Christ died for us," and second, that "when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son." Reconciliation has to do directly with the kingdom of God, in that it signifies the bringing back of those who were rebels and enemies into willing and loyal submission to God. In this connection attention should be given to the text of Colossians 1:12-22, which shows that, as the result of the death of Christ, those who have "redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins" (v. 14), are also translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son (v. 13), Christ "having made peace for them through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself"; and the apostle adds, "And you, who were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh, through death" (Colossians 1:20-22). It is certain, therefore, that, when Christ Jesus died and rose again, atonement for sin and reconciliation for the enemies of God were fully and finally accomplished as a matter of historic fact. It is important, and essential, to a right interpretation of this prophecy, to keep in mind that atonement and reconciliation were to be accomplished, and actually were accomplished, within the measure of seventy weeks from the going forth of the decree of King Cyrus. In all of this we see that Jesus made reconciliation for iniquity and restored us to God as His possession.

4. To bring in everlasting righteousness.
Righteousness can best be described as the state of being in a right relationship with God. Righteousness is closely related to the act of being made just; justified; or justification which is a forensic term, opposed to condemnation. As regards its nature, it is the judicial act of God, by which he pardons all the sins of those who believe in Christ, and accounts, accepts, and treats them as righteous in the eye of the law, i.e., as conformed to all its demands. In addition to the pardon (q.v.) of sin, justification declares that all the claims of the law are satisfied in respect of the justified. It is the act of a judge and not of a sovereign. The law is not relaxed or set aside, but is declared to be fulfilled in the strictest sense; and so the person justified is declared to be entitled to all the advantages and rewards arising from perfect obedience to the law (Rom. 5:1-10). It proceeds on the imputing or crediting to the believer by God himself of the perfect righteousness, active and passive, of his Representative and Surety, Jesus Christ (Rom. 10:3-9). Justification is not the forgiveness of a man without righteousness, but a declaration that he possesses a righteousness which perfectly and for ever satisfies the law, namely, Christ's righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21; Rom. 4:6-8). The sole condition on which this righteousness is imputed or credited to the believer is faith in or on the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith is called a "condition," not because it possesses any merit, but only because it is the instrument, the only instrument by which the soul appropriates or apprehends Christ and his righteousness (Rom. 1:17; 3:25, 26; 4:20, 22; Phil. 3:8-11; Gal. 2:16). Righteousness is the most prominent feature of the kingdom of God. To show this we need only cite those familiar passages: A. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" (Matthew 6:33); B. "the kingdom of God is righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost" (Romans 14:17). C. One characteristic of God’s righteousness, which He was "to bring in" through the sacrifice of Christ (Romans 3:21-26), is that it endures forever; and this is what is emphasized in the prophecy. A work was to be done, and now has been done, which would bring in everlasting righteousness— everlasting because based upon the Cross, D. as foretold also through Isaiah, "My righteousness shall be forever" (Isaiah 51:8). E. Jesus Christ has now been made unto us "righteousness" (1 Corinthians 1:30); F. and this is in fulfillment of another great promise: "Behold the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper ..... And this is His Name whereby He shall be called Jehovah Our Righteousness" (Jeremiah 23:5,6).
Some tend to believe that this everlasting righteousness of God has not yet been brought in to the children of God. They think that one day when Jesus returns He will bring this everlasting righteousness with Him, but there are those that have awoke and realize the truth that we have already been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and it is an everlasting righteousness. If what believers have seen and received of God’s goodness and mercy is not evidence enough to the ‘everlasting righteousness’ then I don’t know what it will take to convince them! If you are Christ’s then you have received a righteousness that is everlasting just as Daniel prophesied through the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
5. To seal up vision and prophecy.
Seal: a. commonly a ring engraved with some device (Gen. 38:18, 25). b. Jezebel "wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal" (1 Kings 21:8). c. Seals are frequently mentioned in Jewish history (Deut. 32:34; Neh. 9:38; 10:1; Esther 3:12; Cant. 8:6; Isa. 8:16; Jer. 22:24; 32:44, etc.). d. Sealing a document was equivalent to the signature of the owner of the seal. This sealing up of vision and prophecy is to mean the sealing up of God’s word of prophecy to the Israelites, as part of the punishment they brought upon themselves. Some have understood that this is to mean that the vision and prophecy were to be fulfilled. But this is not common or practical that the word "sealed up" is used in that sense in the Scriptures. For when the fulfillment of prophecy is meant, the word "to fulfill" is used. The word should be taken here in its primary meaning; for it was distinctly foretold, as a prominent feature of Israel’s punishment, that both vision and prophecy—i.e., both eye and ear—were to be closed up, so that seeing they would see not, and hearing they would hear not (Isaiah 6:10). Isaiah 6: 9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. 10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. 11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, 12 And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land. 13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof. This sealing up of the vision and prophecy is made very clear in the above passage and is confirmed by Jesus and the disciples. A tenth or a tithe of them shall be gleaned of the Lord specifying those that believed and shall believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and has and will be converted into the Jew and Gentile New Nation of the Church. Moreover, this very sealing up of vision and prophecy as a part of the chastening of Israel was foretold by Isaiah in that passage where he speaks of Christ as the Foundation Stone (Isaiah 28:16) Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.. Following this is a prediction of "woe" to the city where David dwelt (Isaiah 29:1). So we have here a prophecy which is parallel to that of Gabriel. The latter spoke of the cutting off of Messiah to be followed by the destruction of Jerusalem; and Isaiah also spoke of Christ as God’s Foundation Stone, laid in Zion (resurrection) and then of the overthrow of the earthly Zion. As to this overthrow God speaks through Isaiah very definitely saying, Isaiah 29:1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices. 2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel. 3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee. 4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust. Then the prophet speaks of a coming storm and tempest and devouring fire, and also of the multitude of the nations that were to fight against the city (Isaiah 29:6-9). Isaiah 29:6-9 6 You will be punished by the Lord of hosts With thunder and earthquake and great noise, With storm and tempest And the flame of devouring fire. 7 The multitude of all the nations who fight against Ariel, Even all who fight against her and her fortress, And distress her, Shall be as a dream of a night vision. 8 It shall even be as when a hungry man dreams, And look-he eats; But he awakes, and his soul is still empty; Or as when a thirsty man dreams, And look-he drinks; But he awakes, and indeed he is faint, And his soul still craves: So the multitude of all the nations shall be, Who fight against Mount Zion." 9 Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink. And then come these significant words in verse 10: "For the Lord God hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes, the prophets; and your rulers, the seers, hath He covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed" (Isaiah 29:10,11). This manifestly corresponds with Gabriel’s words "to seal up vision and prophecy." Moreover, the word "sealed," in (Isaiah 29:11), is the same as in (Daniel 9:24). These words of Isaiah also give a remarkably accurate description of the spiritual blindness of the people and their rulers in Christ’s day, who, though they read the prophets every Sabbath day, yet because they knew not their voices, fulfilled them in condemning Him (Acts 13:27).
The fulfillment of Isaiah 6 also comes in here. For the Lord Himself declared that, in His day, was fulfilled the word "Go and tell this people, Hear ye indeed but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed" (Isaiah 6:9,10)
Matthew 13:13-15 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
John also quotes this prophecy and applies it to the Jews of his day John 12:38-41; John 12:38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? 39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. 41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
and Paul does the same (Acts 28:25- 27). Acts 28:25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. Evidently the prophet Isaiah, understood that the judgment pronounced in the words quoted above was to be one of terrible severity, for he at once inquired anxiously, "How long" the period of judicial blindness was to last. The answer was, "Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, and the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land" (Isaiah 6:11,12).
Here we have a clear prediction of that which Christ Himself prophesied when He foretold the desolation of Judea, and the scattering of the Jews among all nations (Luke 21:24). Luke 21: 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. We understand that the prediction of ‘sealing up the vision and prophecy’ is the blindness and deafness that came upon the children of Israel, prophesied by Isaiah, confirmed by Jesus, John, and Paul. They were made unable to see, hear and understand what Jesus was teaching and what the Scripture spoke about Him being the Messiah. II Corinthians 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: 14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the Old Testament; which veil is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Unfortunately the veil is apparently still in place for many when they begin looking back to the prophecies and trying to understand what they are showing and saying to us. This is the fulfilling of the sealing up the VISION of the Israelites to prevent them from seeing and hearing Jesus, thus fulfilling the PROPHECY of Isaiah.

6. To Anoint the MOST HOLY The word anoint here means a variety of things such as to strike or draw the hand over anything; to spread over with anything; to smear; to paint; to anoint. Commonly used to mean a consecration by unction or anointing to any office or use; as a priest or a prophet; or a stone as a sacred place. This may or may not include the use of oil for many times oil is used but since the spiritual kingdom has come along many of these have been a shadow and type of the true that came. In Mark 1we see Jesus coming to John to be baptized and as he comes out of the water the Holy Spirit descends on Him like a dove and the Father says this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. Jesus is driven by the Spirit into the wilderness and tempted of the devil for 40 days and then he returns in the power of the spirit and enters the temple and reads out of Isaiah a prophecy. Let us pick it up there. Luke 4: 16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." 20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." Jesus speaking about himself here remarked that He was greater than the Temple. This would be true in the sense that the one that makes the temple holy is greater than the temple. Matthew 12:6 "Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple. 7 "But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless. 8 "For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." I believe it is true to say that this Anointing of the Most Holy was carried out in a threefold manner in which we see Jesus the Messiah, the Most Holy, anointed with the Holy Spirit from the presence of the Father to carry out His Kingly, High Priestly and Prophetic duties. This could very well have been the beginning of the fulfillment of the Anointing of the Most Holy. Secondly we see Jesus after His resurrection entering into the Most Holy Place, in the heavens, not made with hands and presenting as High Priest His own blood upon the true Mercy Seat in Heaven. This too being a continuing of the anointing of the Most Holy still being carried out by Jesus. Thirdly we see an incredible outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the body of Christ on the day of Pentecost (the Feast for the Jubilee or new beginning) anointing 120 at once to do the same works Jesus had done and bringing life to the Jew and Gentile New Nation the Church. In this we see and believe a fulfilled threefold continued anointing of the Most Holy from Messiah to the Heavenly Most Holy and then to the New Covenant Temple Most Holy the Church. It is sad to think that there are those that teach this anointing of the Most Holy refers to a natural stone building Most Holy room to be built sometime in the future. God never took pleasure in a stone and wood temple and none of the sacrifices that came with it so why would we ever believe He is speaking of anointing a shadow and type that only pointed to the true Most Holy when we have 3 clear references and fulfillments in the Most Holy Jesus (Messiah), the Most Holy Heavenly Sanctuary, and the New Testament Most Holy Temple of God (the Church) all being anointed in the time frame of this 70th week or last 7 years. You figure it out if you think I am in error because I am convinced that either one or all of these could easily fulfill the Prophecy of Daniel for they all fell in the designated timetable of the prophecy. Unless someone decides to obscure or rend the prophecy and timetable you must select one or all of the above. Along with the scripture I have already presented in Mark 1 and Luke 4 concerning Jesus’ anointing by the Holy Spirit (Ghost) to fulfill His offices as Prophet, Priest, and King I will submit a few more to substantiate the claims I made to the two other Most Holy places being anointed. This heavenly sanctuary received not only the cleansing of the blood by the True Great High Priest but the greater than the temple arrived there and Jesus’ presence as Lord and Christ in the true Most Holy was an anointing with himself in blood and in Spirit! Hebrews 9:21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but INTO HEAVEN ITSELF, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Hebrews 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
7. Jerusalem and the temple to be destroyed
We will begin this section with the revealed word of God that had been delivered to the children of Israel as a warning to not depart from the Lord or transgress against His covenant for if they did these things would come upon them. Leviticus 26: 30-33 30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. 31 And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours (sacrifices). 32 And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it. 33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
God had already determined what would happen to the lands of His people if they did not keep His commandments and obey His voice. The above scripture in Leviticus outlines pretty effectively that which had been “determined” for the overspreading of abominations. So we see in 70 A.D. Titus Vespasian commanding the Roman Army left in his command by his father that had been called back to Rome to be made emperor of Rome, thus making Titus a prince. They besieged the city of Jerusalem for approximately 3 years surrounding it and preventing food, water, or vital provisions from entering or exiting the city and finally the city caved in and the armies of Rome destroyed the city, the temple and polluted the sanctuary so thoroughly that no sacrifice has ever been offered on it since which has thus far secured the word of God that it would be made desolate, even until the consummation. They also fulfilled some of Jesus’ prophecies; Luke 23:28-31 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
Luke 19:41-44 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
Matthew 23:32-39 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. 33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the d**nation of hell? 34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. 36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Matthew 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple. Matthew 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
It is to our favor that God caused a record to be kept of this time of destruction through a Jewish Historian named Josephus. What makes his records so interesting is that he was not a Christian and had no cause to favor any Christian doctrine or belief whatsoever. Here is a brief description of this destruction of the city and sanctuary. Josephus, in describing it, uses almost the very words of our Savior.
Josephus writes about the 70 AD destruction by Titus Vespasian; All the calamities which had befallen any nation from the beginning of the world, were but small in comparison with those of the Jews. Jewish Wars, book i., preface, º 4. "And now rushing into the city, they slew whomsoever they found, without distinction, and burnt the houses and all the people who had fled into them. And when they entered for the sake of plunder, they found whole families of dead persons, and houses full of carcasses destroyed by famine; then they came out with their hands empty. And though they thus pitied the dead, they had not the same emotion for the living, but killed all they met, whereby they filled the lanes with dead bodies. The whole city ran with blood, insomuch that many things which were burning were extinguished by the blood." Jewish Wars, book vi. #Zec 8, º #5 Zec 9, º 2, 3. He adds, that in the siege of Jerusalem, not fewer than eleven hundred thousand perished (Jewish Wars, book vi., #Zec 9, º 3)—a number almost as great as are in the whole city of London. In the adjacent provinces no fewer than two hundred and fifty thousand are reckoned to have been slain; making in all whose deaths were ascertained, the almost incredible number of one million three hundred and fifty thousand, who were put to death. These were not indeed all slain with the sword. Many were crucified. Many hundreds (Jewish Wars, book vi. Chap. xi Chap. xi. º 1) "were first whipped, then tormented with various kinds of tortures, and finally crucified: the Roman soldiers nailing them (out of the wrath and hatred they bore to the Jews) one after one way, and another after another, to crosses, by way of jest, until at length the multitude became so great that room was wanting for crosses, and crosses for the bodies." So terribly was their imprecation fulfilled—. If it be asked how it was possible for so many people to be slain in a single city, it is answered, that the siege of Jerusalem commenced during the time of the passover, it is estimated that more than three millions were usually assembled. See Josephus, Jewish Wars, book vi., Zec. ix., º 3, 4. The fulfillment of the Jewish leaders and priests that cried for Jesus’ crucifixion; "His blood be on us, and on our children," Matthew 27:25
A horrible instance of the distress of Jerusalem is related by Josephus. The famine during the siege became so great that they ate what the most sordid animals refused to touch. A woman of distinguished rank, having been plundered by the soldiers, in hunger, rage, and despair, killed and roasted her babe, and had eaten one half of him before the deed was discovered. Jewish Wars, book vi., #Zec 3, º 3, 4. This cruel and dreadful act was also in fulfillment of prophecy, #De 28:53,56,57.
Another thing added by Luke 21:24) was, that "they should be led captive into all nations." Josephus informs us that the captives taken during the whole war amounted to ninety-seven thousand. The tall and handsome young men Titus reserved for triumph; of the rest, many were distributed through the Roman provinces, to be destroyed by wild beasts in theatres; many were sent to the works in Egypt; many, especially those under seventeen years of age, were sold for slaves. Jewish Wars, book vi., #Zec 9, º 2,3.
This was the destruction of the city and temple carried out and fulfilled by the people (Roman Army) of the prince (Titus Vespasian) that was to come. Many people look for another fulfillment of this to come in the future and their may come some kind of a similar fulfillment but it will not be the fulfillment of the prophecy and timetable given by Daniel in Chapter 9 for it is complete and fulfilled already! There is no indication by scripture that an extension was to be made neither is there any inference to an interruption of the 490 years being fulfilled on schedule! Yes scripture speaks of an antichrist, a tribulation, and a catching away of the saints it just isn’t in Daniel Chapter 9 verses 24-27. Where is it then? We will discuss that in another book.
Make the change from believing a cleverly devised fable or tale to believing the truth as presented in the scripture and some incredible things will begin to happen. 1. Your sins are washed away 2. Your iniquities are taken away 3. Your reconciled to God 4. Your righteousness is everlasting 5. You see and hear vision and prophecy that others have been blinded to 6. Your transgressions have been filled and brought to an end 7. The Most Holy Jesus Christ has been anointed and we have all received of His anointing 8. You can begin looking for the true revelation of the antichrist, the tribulation, and the catching away instead of trying to stick them in a 7 year period that doesn’t belong to them. 9. You can help others to restore the truth to the Body of Christ and bring a true light to Daniels 70 weeks of years (490 years) and Christ’s glorious fulfillment of it. 10. You come in agreement with the Spirit, the Father and the Word and you are blessed and can begin to understand the Revelation that Jesus gave John.
I hope you have found truth and been helped by this presentation. Any and all comments/questions are welcomed!

No problem, I didn't write it though. I just cut and paste. It was actually put together by a dear friend of mine who has made these books available to us all. I just don't prefer to share names and personal information over the internet without permission.
